Chinese Ink and Wash Fan Painting on Rice Paper
$275
One of a kind: there is only one.
Delicate Chinese ink-and-wash fan painting on rice paper, framed with anti flare glass, signed Fang Yan and stamped lower right, depicting a lively rooster resting within an airy, spacious composition. The bird is formed with soft grey washes and decisive darker ink strokes that define its body and sweeping tail, while the comb and wattle are picked out in vivid red, creating a bright focal point. Cool blue-green bamboo leaves sweep across the surface in quick, elegant brushmarks, framing the rooster and suggesting a gentle breeze without filling the open space. Near the lower left, a small cricket, painted with minimal, fine strokes, adds an intimate touch and a hint of everyday countryside life. Wonderful!
